The retreat will include collaborative presentations, discussions, reflection, meal-sharing, and worship. In-person facilitators and session leaders have experience in retreat planning & leadership development with GLBTQ-identified persons, are skilled members of District Committees on Ministry and Boards of Ordained Ministry, and/or are out GLBTQ-identified UMC clergy. We will utilize technology to broaden the leadership of this retreat beyond those who will be there in person.

Given the New England Annual Conference’s invitation to candidates who may have encountered bias elsewhere, and the leadership comprised of members of New England’s District Committees and Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, this retreat will be focused on New England Conference-specific information. However, we welcome participants from all conferences with the understanding that they might have to do some translation work to fit their home conference’s context.
